SOA's First Holiday Cabaret Dinner Proves a Hit!

Sounds of Aloha's picture

The Sounds of Aloha Chorus has had a very successful run over the years of sold-old cabaret dinners, where our audiences have been as enthusiastic about the quality of the food as the quality of the entertainment! Our latest cabaret broke new ground as the first we have held during the holiday season: a "Friendsgiving" evening on December 2, 2023 at St. Pius X Church in Mānoa. And based on the feedback we got, we maintained our successful streak!

Strolling quartets sang some songs tableside before people helped themselves to a delicious gumbo dinner prepared by Chef Kevin "Two Boots" Tate. Dinner was followed by a chorus performance of holiday songs under the direction of Bryce Irvine, emceed by Adam LeFebvre, and featuring the mixed quartet Vocal Mixology and chapter quartets 21 North, VHF, and 19th Avenue. The event was a great way to kick off the holiday season.

That holiday season continues with a number of performances by the chorus and our quartets, but if you missed the cabaret and are looking for some great musical holiday entertainment -- or if the cabaret just whetted your appetite! -- join us on Sunday, December 17 at 5:30 p.m. for our free "Gift of Song" concert at the historic Kawaiaha'o Church!
