We were very honored and excited to have won awards in both the chorus and quartet contests at the 2025 Fall Convention of the Barbershop Harmony Society’s Far Western District in Fresno, California, October 9-12!

The chorus placed first in the Plateau A for similarly sized and experienced choruses, also placing 9th place overall in the chorus contest. Our two-song performance package not only expressed our affection for our fellow singers from four western states but issued a heartfelt and fun invitation for them to join us next year in Honolulu for the 2026 Convention in our “Little Patch of Heaven Way (Way) Out West!” The convention will be held in conjunction with the 2026 Pan Pacific Barbershop Convention also including our friends from the Pacific Northwest, and, so far, from New Zealand, Australia, and Japan (for whom itʻll be “Way, Way Out East!” We spent the convention handing out pineapple stickers for name badges, as well as Hawaiʻi calendars, to help remind people and build excitement. And, of course, we held our traditional afterglow mai tai party!

Two of our chapter quartets, VHF and 19th Avenue, also did us proud! We were especially thrilled when 19th Avenue won the audience favorite vote to receive the Lloyd Steinkamp “Standing Ovation Award” for their hilarious monsters contest set!

We love opportunities like this to share music and camaraderie with our barbershop brothers and sisters in the rest of the world. We had some guys attending their first convention, which always in fun. We canʻt wait for next year right here at home!
