SOA's Annual Show: Musical Melodrama "Rhinestone Rides Again!" & Concert - May 07, 2022

The Sounds of Aloha's popular Annual Show is back from our COVID hiatus! Join us for an evening of a cappella harmony and humor with our original musical melodrama, "Rhinestone Rides Again!" Saturday, May 7, starting at 7:32 p.m., at the historic Hawaii Theatre.

We invite you to dress up in your favorite western duds and come boo and hiss for the villain, sigh for the heroine, cheer for the hero -- and most of all laugh -- as the Sounds of Aloha tells the tale of Rhinestone, Sue, and Black Bart in our campy melodrama, a tribute to old-time westerns! 

And there's more excitement! This year we will combine our Annual Show with the culminating performance of high school aged singers in our 2022 A Cappella Academy! We can't wait to give these young vocalists a weekend of a cappella fun and then to showcase the future of choral singing for our community.

But wait! There's more! You'll marvel at the amazing sounds from the 2008 International Barbershop Harmony Society Quartet Champions, OC Times! The quartet will serve among our guest clinicians at the A Cappella Academy and then as headliner guest performers in the show. You owe to yourself to check out this preview.

During the pandemic we've really missed being able to share fun evenings like this with our long-time patrons -- and hearing the expressions of delighted surprise from first-timers, who wondered why they'd never heard of this show before. We can't wait to bring it all back again.
