The Sounds of Aloha Chorus is preparing for our holiday season and inviting guys who want to sing for a limited but fun engagement to come check it out! If you're a guy who would like to do some singing, we make it easy!

We are always recruiting new singers for the chorus, but we also welcome men or boys who just want to learn a few Christmas songs and perform them with us in a wonderful public performances in December. Joining the chorus really can be life-changing: we form a special fellowship, with great music, laughter, and fun. But you'll also get a memorable taste of that -- and lots of holiday joy -- if what works for you now is to be a temporary guest singer.

The Sounds of Aloha Chorus is a teaching and learning organization, and you do not need prior musical experience to sing with us. All you need is a decent ear -- and a big heart! -- for singing. We'll do the rest. We are experienced teachers and offer lots of supports, including digital audio tracks, to help with learning. And if you are an accomplished singer, don't worry: we have plenty to satisfy you musically as well.

Guests are welcome at any of our regular rehearsals, usually on Thursdays in Makiki, 7:00 - 9:30 p.m. But please double check our Events calendar to confirm the rehearsal plan for any given week, because sometimes we have to adjust our schedule and/or venue. Guest singers are invited to stay for our whole rehearsal, but we'll be rehearsing the pieces that will feature guest singers in the first part of rehearsals, so guests can leave around 8:00 or 8:15 if they prefer. If you have any questions about the chorus, about guest singing, or about barbershop music, please feel free to contact us!

Women and girls, our sister choruses offer similar opportunities! Check out Na Leo Lani's "Sing With Us for the Holidays!" program and Honolulu Blend's "Holiday Harmony Workshop."

Last year a guy named Jason Roach brought his kids to see our free A Gift of Song concert at Kawaiaha'o Church -- the performance we'll be holding again this year on Sunday, December 17, and in which we'll again feature our guest singers. Jason literally was moved to tears during the concert and decided then and there that he wanted to get singing back into his life after many years. And back in 2019 a couple of guys named Adam Jansen and Nackil Sung decided to participate in our Guest Singer Program and perform with us in a "Holiday Pops" concert with the Honolulu Symphony Orchestra. They liked it so much they wanted to sing regularly too. Jason, Adam, and Nackil now are Sounds of Aloha members.

Whether or not joining the chorus is in your future, we promise you'll have a great time singing in December with the Sounds of Aloha!
