As we emerge from the COVID pandemic, the Sounds of Aloha Chorus (SOA) is looking for male singers who want to give a cappella harmony a try! We'll be doing a few Christmas performances and are looking forward eagerly to being able to meet more regularly -- and welcoming guests -- starting in 2022! Some meetings may be virtual, some in person, depending on how things turn out. But one way or another, we encourage interested singers to contact us to learn more about our chorus. And check our Events page for our latest plans as they develop!

SOA has been entertaining audiences for over 70 years and is one of Hawaii's best-loved choral groups. We've done a few exciting things even during the pandemic -- including some well-received virtual chorus performances -- and we're just starting to get back into live performances.

The Sounds of Aloha are proudly a barbershop chorus, but you can leave your straw hats and arm garters at home: although we love the old songs, the contemporary barbershop scene is much more. And please don't let the fact that SOA is an auditioned chorus deter you! We are strong music educators. No formal singing experience is needed if you can carry a tune and want to learn. Some of our members have music degrees and extensive singing backgrounds. But others don't read a note of music and had no prior choral experience before joining us; they just had a good ear—and heart!—for singing. We pride ourselves on helping ordinary voices make extraordinary music—and we are out to entertain!

We do not exaggerate when we say singing with SOA could be life-changing. Besides making great music, our members enjoy a remarkable camaraderie. We laugh a lot and have tons of fun. We can't wait to begin once again to welcome new singers!
