Overflow Crowd Enjoys "A Night At the Movies!" with SOA!

The Sounds of Aloha's latest cabaret dinner show, on October 13, 2018, at St. Pius X Hall in Manoa, treated our patrons to a musical celebration of "A Night at the Movies!" The program featured some of the best songs from the golden age of film until the present day, including several exciting numbers that are new to our repertoire. Those in attendance had a grand time, and as you can see here, our guys really got into it too!

Three of our quartets, Funny Bones, Full Measure, and 19th Avenue, offered up memorable performances, tableside before dinner and as part of the program afterwards.

And back by popular demand was our all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner! In fact, we had to set up extra tables and chairs! As anybody who has attended one of SOA's cabarets before can attest, not only can our group sing and entertain, but, hey, we can really cook!

The movie evening featured popcorn and movie trivia, and, adding to the excitement, some debuts: those of three of our newest singers, Passi Iafeta, Alex Sasuclark, and Sig Roenbeck, shown below!

But one of best moments had to be hearing 200 people joining together to sing some classic movie songs, with genuine gusto and ability! We are strong believers in bringing back more communal singing, and this was an audience that definitely shared our enthusiasm for it as together we sang "My Favorite Things," Que Sera, Sera," and "When You Wish Upon a Star!"

SOA is scheming to bring events like this to other parts of O'ahu, so stay tuned for more terrifically fun family opportunities coming soon to a neighborhood near you!
