The world of barbershop harmony saw another Hawaii unity rally last Tuesday, April 25, 2017, as Na Leo Lani Chorus held a Friends & Family Nite in their run-up to the Region 12 Sweet Adelines competition in Reno in this week! Under the direction of the Sounds of Aloha's own Lars Isaacson, Na Leo Lani ran through their competition package andd hosted short performances from SOA and from the women's quartet Bella Makana. We were fired up to sing for our sisters-in-song and cheer them on, as this year marks the first time all three Hawaii barbershop choruses have participated in competition in the same year.
At the end of the program Na Leo Lani was joined for a final song not only by Bella Makana and other fellow Sweet Adelines from Honolulu Blend Show Chorus but also by one of their own charter members: 99-year-old Lou Spader! SOA wishes Na Leo Lani a first-rate performance and a fun time!
